Metaphors are as Caulking Guns old as time, yet metaphor studies have recently undergone new and exciting developments.This article aims at questioning the logical and epistemological status of metaphors, adopting a critical approach toward classical metaphor theory and exposing a deeply rooted anti-metaphorical prejudice in the history of philosophy.The paper suggests a new way of conceiving of metaphors by drawing on cybernetic epistemology, which allows refillable palette to widen the scope of the metaphorological discourse.
